Prompt Answer: Prefer Beach or Mountains

Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

Is both an option? Or forests instead?

I like natural areas that make me feel insignificant and small.

Now, places I’ve been like that? The Gulf of Mexico, Tampa Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, Lake Okeechobee, Lake Michigan… but I don’t like the traditional beach. Surf, sand, and people are not my cup of relaxation tea.

Mountains are wonderful. Huge and overwhelming and just a little terrifying to drive in or through.

Prompt Answer: Instincts

Do you trust your instincts?

Yes, I trust my instincts/intuition… for the most part.

There are times where people have showed me who they really are and I thought I could make them better or help them grow past their pain despite my gut telling me they’re only going to change on their own terms.

Prompt Answer: First Impression

What’s the first impression you want to give people?

The first impression I want to give people is that I am someone kind and clever.

I have brain gremlins that are lying bastards sometimes, so the last thing I want people to see is a useless, unkind person. I work actively, trying to be a good person, heal from my past, and better myself and the world around me in the future.

I’m not perfect, nor do I strive for perfection. I strive for growth, joy, and resilience.

I don’t know what first impression I actually give off these days.

Prompt Answer: Book I’m Reading Right Now

What book are you reading right now?

I’m reading The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen.

She’s one of my favorite authors of what I would consider soft urban fantasy and/or feminine fiction. It’s not hard core or gritty; no leather clad ménage à trois sex scenes or obsessive vampires. But soft magics found in the ordinary world. Characters who are wisened crones that give away little every day objects or women with broken hearts that bake cakes to call loved ones home.

Much like another favorite author of mine, fellow Jew Alice Hoffman, Sarah Addison Allen likes making magic part of the every day.

I recommend her books.
