Are you more of a night or morning person?
I’m definitely more of a night person. I’m not a morning person.
What are your feelings about eating meat?
I’m a recovered vegetarian who was raised in a quasi-occasionally kosher household. It’s weird in my life.
Anyway, I don’t mind eating some meat. Poultry, bison, deer, beef, pork in many forms, that’s all good. Fish… I’m a little more wobbly on.
Shellfish hates me, like sea bugs (shrimp). But I love clam chowder?
So. If it’s meaty, it’s eat-y to me. I’ll try anything once that will not try to kill me.
What are your two favorite things to wear?
My two favorite things to wear are my pentacle and glasses.
If you didn’t need sleep, what would you do with all the extra time?
I’m often on Team No Sleep and I often get reading and /or crocheting done.
Name your top three pet peeves.
1) Short temper
2) Lack of compassion for others
3) Incessantly negative world view.
Who are your current most favorite people?
In no particular order: Reffie, J, Chelé, DW, and my partner Mellon.
What are your favorite animals?
Cats. Any kind or size of cat.
And stingrays. Which are a cousin or something to sharks.
Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?
Is both an option? Or forests instead?
I like natural areas that make me feel insignificant and small.
Now, places I’ve been like that? The Gulf of Mexico, Tampa Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, Lake Okeechobee, Lake Michigan… but I don’t like the traditional beach. Surf, sand, and people are not my cup of relaxation tea.
Mountains are wonderful. Huge and overwhelming and just a little terrifying to drive in or through.
If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?
I’d want to meet the man I’m named for: Theodore Roosevelt.
Do you trust your instincts?
Yes, I trust my instincts/intuition… for the most part.
There are times where people have showed me who they really are and I thought I could make them better or help them grow past their pain despite my gut telling me they’re only going to change on their own terms.
What is your favorite place to go in your city?
The library.
What’s the first impression you want to give people?
The first impression I want to give people is that I am someone kind and clever.
I have brain gremlins that are lying bastards sometimes, so the last thing I want people to see is a useless, unkind person. I work actively, trying to be a good person, heal from my past, and better myself and the world around me in the future.
I’m not perfect, nor do I strive for perfection. I strive for growth, joy, and resilience.
I don’t know what first impression I actually give off these days.
