Write a letter to your 100-year-old self.
Dear Self,
Did you make it to one hundred? If not, did you get planted under a tree? How’s the afterlife?
Write a letter to your 100-year-old self.
Dear Self,
Did you make it to one hundred? If not, did you get planted under a tree? How’s the afterlife?
Where would you go on a shopping spree?
Well, that depends, honestly: is it a shopping spree for me? The world’s largest English-centric bookstore. Or just Amazon.
For a friend? Amazon.
For the local food pantry? Wherever I can help get them the most food that will actually help to feed people.
What is your middle name? Does it carry any special meaning/significance?
Again with the narc-like questions? Why are you trying to harvest data on us??? What’s next; our childhood pet’s name or the street we grew up on?
That being said, my middle name is for my stepfather’s mother. It also apparently seems to be the patron saint of the blind and means “light”.
What is the last thing you learned?
That my partner detests Hollandaise Sauce. Lol
What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
“On a scale of one to ten, how much pain are you in?”
Fucking makes me want to throw bricks at people’s heads. The answer is always at least a four. That’s my baseline. My body is always in pain. And I hate it.
You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence?
Of all the things I can do, there are three that I am not good at: making pancakes, juggling, and being angry.
What are three objects you couldn’t live without?
A book
My laptop with WiFi.
My meds bag
Do you believe in fate/destiny?
Yes, I believe in Fate and destiny. But it isn’t an all-consuming overlord or something like that. It’s a gentle guiding hand towards the end of our days, bedecked with friendships and trials aplenty.
Do you enjoy your job?
I enjoy what I do but I wish I helped more people.
Describe a phase in life that was difficult to say goodbye to.
I have to honestly say, leaving Florida this last time was difficult. Leaving behind friends and family was hard.
I’m glad I’ve made the move, even if I didn’t end up staying in Chicago. I’ve met my partner, made a scant handful of new friends.
Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.
Does crocheting something super intricate count? Because I’m going to be making Sixel Designs’ All Skeleton Blanket for my dear friend Charles.
What advice would you give to your teenage self?
Sometimes, spite is enough to get by, but never lose your compassion.
What is your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is tea. Specifically sweet iced tea, southern style. But any tea is good.
