Self-Love Journal Prompt: Day 24

This one…There’s a lot to unpack. So this is gonna be a long one, I think.

Quick recap:May of 2020 is all about self-love. So, I’m trying to be kinder and embrace a more self-focused positive attitude. Each day, I’ll be working from one of the prompts from Tia Harding’s 32 Self-Love Journal Prompts or from The Petite Planner’s 30 Days of Self-Love.

Here’s today’s prompt: “What would make your teenage self-proud of you now?

Teenage Theodora would be shocked we made it to almost thirty-five, I think. God knows I tried to die more than once as a teenager. But that’s neither healthy nor helpful right now.

Anyway, refocusing back to what would make my teenage self proud: the amount of things I’ve written. Even if I haven’t finished a novel, I’ve written shorts and have three inches of ideas on paper.

Teenage Theodora would be impressed I got my GED and got three perfect scores while doing so. They’d also likely be impressed by most of my college career, though it’s currently unfinished.

They’d be proud I have a car, finally learned to drive, became my own damn person for once rather than just a sister/daughter/friend of someone else.

Teenage Theo wouldn’t believe that I’ve finally chosen to be the main character in my own life, rather than a supporting character.

They’d love most of the friends I have now, and would marvel at some of the crochet patterns I’ve tackled-especially the ones that I’ve made up myself!

Adolescent Theo would be shocked we’re sober, and proud of it, too. And proud of the strides I’ve made in my mental health an acknowledging my struggles.

That’s all I’ve got for this one, I think. Have a good day, folks!
