My flight back to Indiana is tomorrow. I’m happy to be going home, even if I’m glad I came.
This trip has been lovely. And loud. And turbulent. I’m glad to be going back up north though. The humidity is draining as hell right now. It’s like seventy something degrees here. I miss winter and I’ve only been here three days.
It was wonderful to see my family, though. Grandma Gator got to see the little ones, Evie and Phoebe, and it was an amazing, loud day. The girls only have two volumes, as they are four and three, respectively, and boundless balls of chaotic energy.
I’m glad for the relative silence right now. We had an easy, calm dinner of penne and red meat sauce with some toasted garlic bread. Now we’re listening to jazz covers of modern songs mixed with old standards and I’m crocheting on the couch.
I’ve texted Mellon, and we’re going to meet up at Midway tomorrow evening when my flight gets in, then go to dinner. After that, the two and a half hour drive back to the house so I can crash and sleep before going back to work on Monday.
Anyway, I don’t want to think about work right now. I’m going to go play Apples to Apples with Grandma Gator, Aunt and Uncle Gator, and Cousin Jay.
Take your meds, folks.
