Here we go, folks! Only two prompts left!
Quick recap: May of 2020 is all about self-love. I’m trying to be kinder and embrace a more self-focused positive attitude. Each day, I’ll be working from one of the prompts from Tia Harding’s 32 Self-Love Journal Prompts or from The Petite Planner’s 30 Days of Self-Love.
Here’s today’s prompt: “Who is your hero, and what makes you two relatable?“
I had to think pretty hard on this one. I don’t really think I have someone I would consider my hero, currently.
If I had to pick someone, and for this exercise I have to, I would say my hero as a child was Matilda, from the movie of the same name.
She was an outcast in her family, something I often felt like, and escaped into books. I still do that to this day.
But as an adult, honestly, I think I would say that Robin Williams is my hero. He died, tragically, by suicide back in 2014. But he, like myself, struggled life-long with depression. We’re both alcoholics, though I think I’ve maintained my relative sobriety better thanks to anti-depressants and therapy. And we both love, or loved, to bring people joy.
That’s all I’ve got on this one, though I am reading his biography right now.
Have a good day, folks!
