Of Chinatown and Coffee

I have had a long, wonderful day with Mellon.

We went to breakfast at a Swedish restaurant down near my old job.

Then we went for coffee at Pedestrian Coffee. I had my first pumpkin latte of the autumnal season! Woo hoo!

We hung out at the coffee shop for a while, then headed for our tourist-y plan for the day: Chinatown!

We hit up a fabulous bakery with amazing BBQ pork buns and sponge cake. I convinced Mellon to get themselves a small slice of strawberry cake, since they love strawberries.

Then, we hit the streets! Gift shops, grocery stores, and the Chinatown library. It was so much fun. We got boba milk teas. I also tried a pineapple taiyaki! It’s the fish shaped treat that is today’s photo.

We had a late lunch at Hing Kee, a restaurant in Chinatown. We had dan dan noodles, salt and pepper Chinese eggplant, and Mongolian beef. Everything was delicious.

We headed back to the apartment with plans of resting up before making dinner, but we ended up talking till almost nine and then just went down the block for a slice of stuffed pizza from Chicago’s Pizza.

Anyway, I’m sore, but happy, and heading to bed.

Take your meds, folks.
