10 More Rows on Sparrow’s Seaside Blanket
So, today is Rosh Hashana. The Jewish New Year and one of the big High Holy Days. I spent it being productive. Two loads of laundry, grocery shopping, and crocheting was my morning.
After they got off work, Sparrow came over! They’ve finished my quilt already!
Here’s a picture of it on my bed:

It’s huge! The size of my queen-sized bed. They made matching pillow shams for me. And when they came over today, they used my sewing machine and made me a matching set of curtains for the window over my bed! It’s fabulous! And I love it so much.
I am still working on the Seaside Blanket. I could have finished off and done the border at the row I’m on, but I want it to be big enough for them to comfortably enjoy it so I’m doing another ten rows: two stripes of white, a stripe of dark navy, two more stripes of white, four rows of the solid blue, and then the wave stitch in the blue ombré yarn! I think it is going to look fantastic!
It’s at sixty inches across now. I measured this morning:

Of course, Spock had to help me crochet today.

As it was a holiday for me, Sparrow and I went out for a treat! We went to Otsuka Ramen House. It was delicious.

We also got some fro-yo after supper. That was nice. I got cherry and chocolate frozen yogurt with some Oreo crumbles, gummy bears, and rainbow sprinkles.
We watched the movie Stardust, which is based off an excellent Neil Gaiman novel. And then we watched the 2005 remake of The Producers with Matthew Broderick, Will Ferrell, Nathan Lane, and Uma Thurman. I love that movie. It makes me laugh.
All in all, today was an awesome start to the “new” year. And tomorrow, I have apples and honey to share with Reffie for our writing day!
Anyway, I’ve got a yarn color change coming up on Sparrow’s Seaside Blanket, so I’m going to go. I’ll stay up till Fen gets home from work, just to see how their day was, and then head to bed.
I also have to appease the Duolingo owl before midnight to keep my streak going.
