489 Dollars Needed to Buy a New To Me Desktop
5 Rows Done on Grey Day Shawl
Got to have dinner with my father in law and Steph tonight. My Darling Wife made Sausage with peppers and onion. It was amazing.
I’m still kind of fried, emotionally, so I’m challenging myself to try and re-engage.
I have to make about $490.00 to buy myself a desktop computer. And since I have to save up for the cruise, I have very little free funds to save up for it right now. So I’ll need to earn it another way. One of my ideas was to sell crochet patterns on Ravelry!
I’m trying to write down the crochet pattern I’m creating now! I’m writing it as I make it so I can publish “The Grey Day Shawl” on Ravelry when it’s done. But that means I have to actually think about what I’m doing as I’m making it. Which is a lot harder than one might think as I usually let the pattern develop organically.
Here is what I have so far, the first five rows:
Row 1: Chain 5, slip stitch to form ring. Ch2 (counts as starting double crochet now and throughout); 4 dc, ch2, 5 dc. Turn
Row 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in same stitch as turn; *(ch1, Skip next stitch, dc in next stitch) twice. (2dc ch2 2dc) in ch2 space. *(Dc in next stitch, ch1 skip next stitch) twice. 2 dc in ending stitch. Turn.
Row 3: Ch2, 1 dc in same stitch as turn; 1dc in each dc and ch1 space to ch2 space. (1dc ch2 1dc) in ch 2 space. 1 dc in each dc and ch1 space. 2 dc in last stitch. Turn.
Row 4: Ch2, 1 dc in same stitch as turn *(ch 1, skip next stitch, dc in next stitch) to ch2 space. (2dc ch 2 2dc) in ch2 space. *(ch1, skip next stitch, dc in next stitch) to end. 2 dc in last stitch. Turn.
Row 5: Ch2, 1 sc in same stitch as turn; sc in every stitch across; (1sc ch2 1 sc) in ch 2 space. Sc in every stitch across, ending with 2sc in turning ch of previous row.
That’s all I’ve got so far. I’ve got some cool recipes coming up for retro recipes! And some more book reviews going live soon.
For the cruise in June, I’ll likely schedule a bunch of blog posts to auto post while I’m gone. Maybe a reading update, an extra recipe, and finally get to that breakdown of spoon theory? Dunno. I’ve got a while until June.
I’m outta spoons. Take your meds.
