Of Storms and Starting Anew

1 Blanket for Papa Ben Finished

Oh man, oh man. I finished Papa Ben’s blanket today. Sewing in that final end was a glorious moment. Now I just need to make Pop Tom’s Buffalo Plaid Blanket.

I did get two rows into Pop’s Buffalo Plaid Blanket tonight. It’s a color blocking technique called carry through I’ve not done before. I’m also doing it to gauge for once, using the correct hook as called for in the pattern by DaisyFarmCrafts.com. We’re not affiliated or anything, but that’s the pattern I’m using.

Work went really well today. I’m almost caught up on my memos. And my attorney will be away for a week here soon, so I’ll be able to catch up even more!

Mentally, I’m kind of hollow. Like the Tin Man’s chest before he gets a heart, if you knock on my sternum, I feel as if there should be an echo back.

I’m back to working on Crows at the Crossroads, my Harry Potter fanfic I have posted on AO3. It’s not too bad, if you ask me. I’ve got about two chapters done and another three in drafts so far with ideas for at least a dozen total chapters. I have no idea how far this story will go. Like, is it just Harry’s first year? The whole series? How much do I cover? These are all questions I will have to figure out the answers to.

Other than finishing and now starting a blanket, I can’t think of much else going on.

Oh, wait. I have a date with Rayne tomorrow. I thought it was a friend-date, but he said he had a crush on me. So I guess it’s a real date? In any case, we’re meeting up at Mel’s Hot Dogs in Tampa. I’m so excited. I haven’t been since the divorce.

I hope I have fun with Rayne tomorrow.

I’m headed to bed. Take your meds, folks.
