Of Lounging and Laughter

13,372 Days Alive

I spent the day with Cleo today. We tried to shop small and local to get some writing done at a place called Grassroots here in Tampa.

It didn’t work out as planned.

Parking at the place was wretched. Like half a dozen parking spaces total. And it was some party day, so they were only open till noon. So Cleo and I thought about it and we ended up at Denny’s as neither of us had eaten a proper breakfast yet, what with it being half past ten in the morning on a Sunday.

So Denny’s it was. We had breakfast. Lots of laughing. I always have such a good time with them. The. We went to Kaleisia’s and chilled in the Quiet Room with some boba milk teas and wrote our little butts off. Well, wrote and edited. I got about four thousand words written today. I am quite proud of myself.

When the tea house closed, we came back to the house and hung out with Fen and their girlfriend Kimmy. We ordered wings for dinner as no one felt like cooking. And with Kimmy’s food allergies, I couldn’t offer any of the leftover chili to them.

We hung out. I sofa cuddled with Cleo, which was very, very nice. I also got more work done on the Turquoise Throw I’m making for someone. We chatted and watched Food Network shows from the early aughts. It was a good night.

I finished writing Chapter Five of Crows at the Crossroads. And I started Chapter Six! I need to work on my passive voice, but I’ll work on it as best I can.

In other news, I talked to both Jazzy and Jay today, two of three siblings I used to babysit for back in college. They’re both becoming fantastic, fascinating adults. Jazzy is trying to get her ducks in a row. And Jay? Freaking going for his master’s after a gap year. I’m so proud of both of them.

I’m tired and it’s late and I have work tomorrow. I’m going to bed.

Take your meds, folks.
