Oh boy. I am glad to be home. Today was a long, difficult day but Cleo and I got through it and we both got home safely.

We drove from her property that belonged to her late father all the way to her mom’s place across the bridge from where I live.

That would put us at about 350 miles driven today. Whew!

We got all the sentimental stuff marked for transport or out of the house and into the U-Haul truck yesterday and today. There was drama there, but it’s a problem solved by the wondrous nature of Mr. Eugene. He’s a handyman that knows the Air B&B host we stayed with. He’s going to help Cleo get the house shipshape.

While on the property today, I got to see my little friend, Cleo’s mare named Nala. She was such a sweetie. Let me pet her and gave me a good nudge when I stopped giving her skritches. There were two other horses there I got to pet as well. The white one that belongs to her relatives is 27 years old! It was awesome. Maybe horses aren’t as scary as I thought they were. Or at least docile ones aren’t.

They’re kind of like larger cows and I’ve never had a problem with a burger puppy. Yes, I call cows “burger puppies”. It’s hilarious.

I got a dozen rows into the Little Boy Blue Blanket between the ride up and the ride back. I’m making up the pattern as I go, but so far it looks really cool.

Anyway, after a long, bug bite filled day, we are all home safely, fed, and ready for bed.

Mentally, I’m doing okay. I’m tired. And sore. But it’s nothing some yoga, hydration, and maybe some tonic water can’t cure. Or just some anti-cramp pills. But I’m not emotionally wrung out or anything. Missing Daddy a bit more than usual, but I expected that.

I had fun with Cleo and we have a lot more in common than I first thought! Like, we are both not fond of spiders. We both do a lot for our families even if there isn’t proper recompense at times. And we both like both Horsey Sauce and Extra Arby’s Sauce on our Beef N Cheddar sandwiches. Heh.

I’m off to appease the Duolingo owl and pass out.

Take your meds, folks.
