I got to go to Pathfinder this evening!! I’m so excited. I also got to snuggle Mac so I’m so damn happy. The touch deprivation was hell, even with a weighted blanket.
I’m working on Zach and Heather’s 13 Point Starry Ripple. It’s yet another thirteen point round ripple because that’s my absolute favorite pattern that can be found here on Ravelry. I’ve made one for me, called Fireside. Another for DW, then modified the pattern to thirteen points for Xypher’s Rainbow Round Ripple and the starry one.
My other favorite pattern is Lucy of Attic24’s neat ripple pattern. Maybe I just like ripple blankets? I made Dale Junior’s baby blanket from that pattern. I also made one in college I called Narcolepsy that I could not stay awake when I snuggled under it. I gave it to a no-longer friend when we were still very close. I hope they kept it. It’s also the pattern I used for Reffie’s throw.
When I’m done with the thirteen point starry ripple, I’ve got to finish DW’s griddle stitch inverse squares blanket and J’s black and white of the same pattern from Daisy Farm Crafts. It’s the one I started when I was down with Covid-19 last week/the week before in Pagoda and Robin Egg Blue. J’s is a simple black and white version I should drag out from underneath my desk and work on it.
Tina made a chocolate cake to celebrate her hubby’s belated birthday with all of us. It kind of shlorped out of cake shape so it was served in scoops rather than slices. It was delicious and super tender, if too much chocolate. I didn’t eat the whole slice, though. Just so much sugar!! It was a small scoop of cake but a ton of super rich frosting. My favorite part is the vanilla ice cream to cut all the sweetness.
Mentally, I’m a little tapped out. Like, having Covid knocked two full days off my next paycheck. So I don’t know what the fuck I’m going to do about that. I’m so tired of struggling. I spent $118 on groceries because the cost of groceries has gone up so much that was only a week worth of food. The cost of living is so high, even here in the corn fields of Indiana. I hate how much I’m struggling with everything. It’s exhausting.
In positive news, Mac’s and my second anniversary of dating is next Thursday! Yes, he finally asked me to be in a committed relationship on All Hallow’s Eve. It’s funny to me, because I was working at Chicago Costumes at the time. I took the train in to Indiana from Chicago that weekend to spend time with him. And now we live together with Dustin and Tom and dear fuzzy Mr. Spock.
The plan is to make dirty rice for dinner that night since it’s one of Mac’s favorite dishes. With them being lactose intolerant, I can’t make chicken Alfredo and have them actually enjoy it. So dirty rice it is! I got both ground beef and some andouille sausage for it. I found an Instant Pot recipe I plan to use for quick cooking time and ease of cleaning up after.
Anyway, I’m going to tune back in to my Pathfinder game and stop hiding in the loo to type this out. I hope all the links posted properly in this entry.
Take your meds, folks.
