14,495 Days Alive

1 Hour of Overtime Worked Today

Well. Today was a very long, busy day at work. Tomorrow is not likely to be better because my coworker is at our other site tomorrow so it will be just me.

It’s not all bad news. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a lot of work done. And my coworker won’t be vaping in the office/hospital, so that’s a relief. She is making noises about quitting when the new area manager starts on the tenth. I’m… currently leaning towards hopeful that the new manager will mesh well with the existing team. My coworker isn’t hopeful at all.

But that’s not my problem. My problem is this massive, awful fibromyalgia flare I’ve been in since Monday. I’m incessantly exhausted, brushing like a peach (thanks super low iron levels that my doctor is aware of), barely able to sleep through the pain even with meds, and dreading coming home because it means walking up fourteen steps inside to get to the bedroom. Fucking agony. My joints hurt. I can barely crochet for more than twenty minutes before my hands are screaming or swollen. I’ve been sleeping under the heated throw to try and relax all the tight muscles. And I’ve been doing stretches and a few yoga poses to loosen my limbs. Sleeping is hard, or at least staying asleep is.

But I’m living on ibuprofen and meal shakes at work, and really need to try and eat lunch or something. I have cup of noodles at my desk, tuna packets, and about a third of a jar of peanut butter left. I’ve been getting plenty of water at least. I kind of want to get another Kevin, the name I give all my electric kettles, just for work. I could buy some heavy cream and yellow fake sugar to make teas at work and stop relying on Zero Sugar Mountain Dew for most of my caffeine. I do have electrolytes and caffeine drink powder at my desk as well as pink lemonade powder.

Spock has been super clingy since this flare kicked up Sunday night/Monday morning. I’m always happy to snuggle with my baby kitty. He seems to be doing okay, but I’m still in need of about a car payment’s worth of spare money to get him to the vet for his yearlies and bloodwork.

I made spam teriyaki rice bowls for dinner tonight. Simple, five ingredient meal: spam, premade teriyaki sauce from Soy Vey, rice, and green onions, Six, I guess since I added some furikake seasoning on top for the nori/seaweed flavor.

Anyway, my old roommate Xypher wants to chat, so I’m going to hop on a call with them for a bit while I slowly crochet.

Take your meds, folks.
