I’m eight motifs into the twenty one of the blanket I’m making for Meg, the Jeweled Knot Blanket. It’s going really well. I may be able to make this pattern from memory by the end of it.
Spock and Fen both seemed glad to see me back home. The visit with Mal and the girls was nice. I am glad to be home, though. Not crocheting for a full weekend was weird.
So today was Mal’s birthday celebration. It was pretty fun! We had these awesome ham and cheese sliders that Bubbles made and played Game of Disney which is like Cards Against Humanity, but completely Disney centered. It is nowhere near PG though.
Today was a bad day. For reasons I don’t want to talk about, I had a massive panic attack at work today. Like, dry heaving into the wastebasket, crying uncontrollably, unable to breathe for way too long panic attack.
Oh man was today a blast. Not only did I get all of my laundry done, I got to introduce my housemate Fen and their girlfriend Kimmy to an old nineties movie I loved called Surf Ninjas. The premise of the movie is just as goofy as one might think from the title.
But it was brilliant. And so much fun. And they both seemed to enjoy the campy humor.
So, I got home from J and Bill6’s around noon today. I received an awesome early Valentine’s Day gift from Fen! It was a pillow shaped like a taco! And I love it!
It’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day here in the US. And two days to the presidential inauguration. It feels like we’re just holding our collective breath, waiting for the other metaphoric shoe, or another goddamned homegrown terrorist attack, to drop.
So, we watched the absolutely ridiculous film,Jupiter Rising, this evening; Fen, their girlfriend Kimmy, and I.
And then, to recover some brain power afterwards, we turned to an old classic, circa 1994, that Fen and I hadn’t seen in a while and that Kimmy had never seen.

It was tacos for dinner tonight. Low spoons means low effort meal. They put on the MST3K of Outlaw on after that, so I retired to my room. I’ve no desire to see anything based on The Books of Gor. Reading them was more than enough.
I just read a short story that was a little Purge-like called Little Monsters: A Halloween Story. It’s got an odd, emotionally detached narrator but it was engaging. Wouldn’t read it again, but it was enjoyable.
I’m going to meditate and then crash for the night.
Today was… overwhelming. Work was again super stressful. It’s only Tuesday but man am I looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow will be a better day, I’m sure of it.
