The full moon is tomorrow. That makes tonight the first night of it. Maybe I’ll light that good luck candle I bought tomorrow?

Today was a rollercoaster. In a good way.

I got to see Lorelei and Usagi today. I drove all the way out to the AirBnB where Usagi was staying. He’s got some drama he’s dealing with and wanted to be around old friends, so he called on Lorelei and I to visit him while he was in town.

St. Petersburg, at least the part where Lorelei lives, is about forty five minutes door to door. It’s a lovely drive but since I wasn’t able to get my car serviced today, I was leery about any extraneous driving beyond that. It was worth the trip, though.

I had fun with Lorelei and Usagi! We had brunch at a Phō house. Since no one I live with is fond of it, it’s a rare treat for me. I got mine extra spicy with plenty of jalapeños and Sriracha! Then, to help slake Usagi’s sweet tooth, they took me to a recently discovered place called Vampire Penguin.

It’s a shaved snow joint that’s originally out of California. It’s like… if a snow cone was made like a gyro. Shaved off a core hunk and doused in delicious toppings.

I got something called a “S’moreo” which is cookies and cream snow with both graham cracker and Oreo crumbs, marshmallows, and chocolate sauce.

The S’moreo

Then we went back to Lorelei’s place for a bit while she had a virtual baby shower to attend. Usagi introduced me to a show called Dante’s Cove. It was hella campy, but I could totally see myself getting into it, once you get past the cheesy sex scenes and bad acting. At least it has leads that are LGBTQ+. There was a lot of hypersexuality in the show, but I only saw one episode. I don’t know if I’d bother to watch the rest of it.

By then, it was dinner time and the promised rain from Tropical Storm Isaias was nothing more than a few sun showers. We headed back to my side of town, since Usagi found a room at the local La Quinta here in New Tampa. We went to Mr. Dunderbak’s and I got what I usually get: the Oktoberfest Platter with andouille. I did try a different sausage this time, though. And I got potato pancakes as an appetizer.

Usagi wanted dessert after so, after a run through the car wash, I took them to Cookie Munchers. I got milk and a red velvet cookie.

It was a long but nice day. I’m frustrated I couldn’t get my car seen to. But I’ll take care of it on Saturday. I’m supposed to go see Bob, Heather, and little nephew Wolfgang after my car is done. So that’ll be a nice carrot at the end of that particular stick.

Mentally, I’m frazzled. I’ve had a headache for most of the day, but forgot to take any for it. I think it’s just from the stupid barometric pressure being weird from Tropical Storm Isaias. Hopefully tomorrow it will be better. I’m nervous about this week. I’ll be taking on even more responsibilities this week and I’m terrified of messing it up.

Emotionally… I’m feeling a little raw. I think my menstrual cycle is about to run me over, so I’m extra sensitive right now. It stresses me out a lot so I’m trying to just let things roll off my back and just keep swimming.

All right. It’s time for me to appease the Duolingo owl before bed. Take your meds, folks.
