12,889 Days Alive
Y’all: I am so excited. I’ve started the border on Sparrow’s Seaside Blanket! It’s slow going, because it’s a new to me pattern, and it’s basically crocheting two rows at once. It’s the Wave Border Stitch. It looks really pretty so far.
I’ve got two other projects on the hook as well, Baby Bubble and Little Bee’s blankets and I started my mother’s Ripple Blanket. I want to get that Fire Variegated Blanket going, but I have no one to give it to when it’s done. And I have the rainbow self striping yarn, but I don’t know what I’m going to do with that.
Speaking of yarn, I’m hoping to be able to get ahold of some Archangel yarn so I can finally make my shawl. Maybe I will get an Amazon gift card or something that I can put towards some yarn or a Paperwhite reader for the holidays.
On the subject of holidays: Halloween is coming up! J’s birthday is that day and we’re planning a witchy woman gathering down in Ybor City to gather and break bread with J, Meg, Melodie, and I. It’ll be my first time at the Columbia Restaurant.
I’m hoping I can take the girls somewhere fun for Yule. I have no clue what I’m going to do for holiday gifts. I want to give them a nice experience. Maybe I can at least host for Yule? Or introduce a new game to the group? I don’t know.
This weekend was pleasantly busy. I’m not overly overwhelmed or exhausted by anything.
I do still need to pick up a heating pad or heated blanket when I get paid. And some more sleeping socks. Nice, soft, squishy socks with fuzzy insides. I’ll add it to the list along with more Coke Zero. And the Wild Unknown Tarot Deck. I really want that deck.
While talking with MJ this evening, the subject of nail treatments came up. It made me realize I hadn’t painted my nails in a long while. Possibly more than a year? So I painted my toenails a nice coppery orange with gold glitter in it. They looks nice and autumnal!
I’ve got twelve Chapters of my NaNoWriMo project planned out already. But I still don’t know how my story ends. In case I haven’t mentioned it lately, NaNoWriMo stands for “National Novel Writer’s Month”. It’s November 1-30th and it’s a self-driven challenge to write a 50,000 word novel within 30 days. There’s no winning beyond finishing those fifty thousand words; no prize beyond the sense of self-accomplishment. But it’s still a good challenge.
I want to go see my brother Mal, Bubbles, and their brood. I miss them something awful. Maybe I can take a weekend trip up there sometime before the end of the year.
It’s National Coming Out Day. I am an asexual, queer, panromantic, gender questioning person. I was assigned female at birth, but there are times where I prefer a more masculine aesthetic. But that’s more about gender expression than actual gender. So. Questioning.
I guess that power nap is wearing off. I’m ready for bed.
Take your meds, folks.
