Mellon and I got our nails done today! I got red gel polish and they got purple base coat with super sparkles. It was his idea and it wasn’t too expensive.
It’s the first time I’ve gotten my nails done without someone wed or dead. The last time I think I got my nails done was when my dad passed away in December of 2018. It’s a nice change, doing something for the sake of joy.
My trip down south is in less than five days! My flight leaves around five a.m. on Thursday morning. It’s going to be a little rough as I’m going to work, going home, grabbing my stuff, heading out to dinner with Mellon, then catching the late South Shore train into Chicago, and then the El’s Orange Line to Midway to meet up with Uncle Comic. From there, it’s back to his place for a cat nap, then back to Midway at three a.m. to catch my flight. And then southern-bound I shall be!
I get to see Chelé and DW on Thursday, for breakfast and lunch respectively. Then make my way to Uncle Gator’s place to crash hard and sleep.
Friday is all about hanging out with Reffie! I’m so excited that I get to see her while I’m in town. We’re going to go to the Salvador Dalí Museum and faff about together for most of the day. Hopefully I won’t be too tired from the double ended burning of the candle on Thursday. If I am, I can hit Walmart for some caffeine pills.
Saturday is all about family and seeing everyone for Hanukah. It’s going to be a great day. Again, coffee might be mandatory. But I’ll be okay.
Sunday, I fly back to Chicago where Mellon will be picking me up from Midway. And then we drive back home. I love road trips with Mellon. He’s a good driver and his car gets amazing gas mileage since it’s a hybrid.
They’re really struggling with their mental health right now. But they have a doctor appointment next week that should help. He’a hoping to get his meds adjusted. I hope it helps them, because when they struggle it can sometimes set off my own brain gremlins.
I’ve been on the mental struggle bus lately. But it’ll get better. Things will improve, Im sure.
Anyway, me and my freshly painted nails are going to bed.
Take your meds, folks.
