We went to the movies today! Only the second time I’ve been since the pandemic started. We went to go see Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. I highly enjoyed it.
Mellon’s friends joined us. Travis, our roommate Thom, and Beau and Tina, all came with us. We even broke bread with Beau and Tina after the movie, and a pit stop at the local Magic: The Gathering card shop. It was a lot of fun.
Tina and I are going to get together some time after I get off work and make cards together! I’m super excited to have a friend in the area. I mean, I, of course, have Mellon here, J in Ohio, and Reffie and Chelé in Florida. And my cousins Wixor, Samantha, Sabrina, and Kevin scattered like buckshot across the greater Chicagoland area. And a half brother somewhere in nowheresville, Illinois, with two more in Chicago proper. And of course the sibs and various other family dashed across central Florida.
But that’s nothing like having a friend you can hug, talk books, and such with. I miss my writing days with Reffie. My game weekends with J and Charles. I miss hugs.
I can always ask Mellon for one. They usually oblige.
I’m going to take up gardening, I think. In containers, not in the ground. Grow some peppers for cooking, maybe plant the hydrangea I bought from the grocery.
I’m happy, but in pain. Tired but content.
I’m going to head to bed here shortly. Maybe knock out another row on Junior’s blanket beforehand.
