1 Amazing Weekend

Oh. My. Gods. This weekend was spectacular! We went to Chicago for the weekend: Mellon, his sister Rin, her two kids Axton and Opal, and her partner Leif. It was so much fun.

After the train/bus/train ride in on the South Shore Line, we went to The Color Factory. It was an amazing experience. Highly recommend it, so long as you’re good with all five sense being overstimulated. Even taste, as there were several edible interactions within the exhibits.

Mellon and I in the confetti room.

The , despite the threat of a rainy day, we went to the Shedd Aquarium. Which I jokingly referred to as the “fish zoo” the whole time.

A BIG fish. I dunno what kind.
Eels!
They are my beacon of delight. Lol

We did the octopus 4D experience and it was pretty nifty! The ceiling rains bubbles down, and there were three d glasses involved.

After that, we went back to the hotel for a quick rest and stretch out before going out to a Ramen San, an expensive but rather mediocre ramen house, for dinner.

No trip to Chinatown this time around, but for the best. We caught the afternoon train back and got home just before Spock’s dinner time.

For the human dinner equation, we went to Biebs & Ash, a relatively new smash burger that pace the next town over.

Meh fries and a damn good caveman burger.

I’m not too tired. In pain, for sure, but I’ve medicated, hydrated, eaten a banana to forestall any muscle cramps, and am heading to bed momentarily.

I’m happy, hopeful, and nervous. And I’m going to bed.

Take your meds, folks.
