Mac and I went to breakfast with his younger brother this morning. He’s a bit of a right wing nut, but a pleasant person to burn an hour with if one has to be socia, so long as things don’t turn to political talk.
Except it did.
He’s… not a bad person. But I don’t know if I would associate with him if he wasn’t Mac’s younger brother. And I just viscerally dislike his political views.
Anyway!
Other than that, New Year’s Day was restful, with good food made by yours truly. I dry rubbed some pork loin and made it into Instant Pot pulled pork. So good.
I got some editing done, probably not going to get any more done tonight. I have to write chapter ten of Crows at the Crossroads and post it by Sunday or so.
My first book that I’m reading in 2025 is Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer. The second book in the series is out already, but the third doesn’t come out until August of this new year. I’m not sure I like the narrative style of the story, but I’m going to give it the three chapter rule before I think of DNFing it.
Right now, we’re watching the second season of Critical Role as I work on Mac’s nephew’s blanket. The yarn bowl Beau and Tina got for me for the winter holiday is amazing. It fits a large yarn cake perfectly!

I’m off to crochet before bed.
Take your meds, folks.
