I made what I call ‘white girl chicken stir fried rice’ for dinner tonight. Only Dustin and I partook; Mac got himself some Doordashed Arby’s for dinner. My feelings were a little bit hurt, but it wasn’t my money to spend, and it means, I suppose, Dustin has leftovers for lunch tomorrow?

My whole damn body hurts. I’m taking my meds, am well hydrated, and have developed an unfortunate allergy to bananas. Anyone know some good muscle pain relief things or anti-cramp stuff that is like.. over the counter? Folks remedies? I know that prior practices swore by tonic water for its quinine content . My hex-wife (not a typo, Chelé or Reffie!), took a quinine and magnesium supplement when she worked as a courier for cramps. When I looked further into it, I found that current research doesn’t support it well :

“However, quinine is not without adverse effects, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration withdrew the indication for treatment of muscle cramps because of reports of serious adverse effects such as hemolytic uremic syndrome, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and arrhythmias.”

I have also been taking a prenatal-style gummy multivitamin to help with my anemia. You’d think that it would help with the muscle cramps, too, right?

Anyway, my brain is mush from four hours of homework, an hour and a half of prep and cooking, and a long-ass day at work…. Where I got approved for a slight raise! Three percent isn’t great, but it is 0.7% over this month’s inflation percentage! Yay?
