I have both therapy (8a.m) and a new friend meetup at a local coffee shop (noon) tomorrow! I am very excited about the latter and cautiously optimistic about the former.
It is Lammas! Also known as Lugh or Lughnasadh if you’re of the Gaelic persuasion, it is a neopagan holiday based on the first harvest once allegedly celebrated by the Celts. I found this interesting article by the an Irish Myths site about the holiday itself. We broke bread together, watched two episodes of Ghost Hunters, and just generally enjoyed each others’ company.
I am also very tired after this first week of the training wheels being ripped off. Work is stressful while my coworker Nina and I are pretty much alone on our side of the office Tuesday through Friday. So… that’s great. They aren’t replacing the trainer that left. The site is still green in our company, so there isn’t a decent, site-specific SOP document. Because, you know, that’s a great idea, right?
I am having a lot of trouble focusing at work and home right now. Between the likely anemia-centered exhaustion, the fibromyalgia flare, and my AuDHD? Yeah, hocus pocus, my ass ain’t got no focus.
I tried listening to music while I work and that seems to help. But jumping through all the fucking hoops I’d need to in order to get my neruospicy ass some work accommodations in the form of one headphone in my non-phone ear might be difficult. Difficult to the point of not being able to do so. I mean, Tuesday through Friday, I guess I could? Nina barely speaks to me, so that’s not a concern. And I pause the music when I’m on a call. With the current political climate, I cannot bring myself to be “formally” diagnosed with something that could lose me my job because I am other in some fashion.
I should go to bed. I’m waiting for my laptop to finish updating, but it’s been stuck on 34% for the last fucking HOUR. Yeah, no, I’m just going to leave it running and go to bed.
My therapy appointment has me awake in about eight hours or less, so I’m going to appease the Duolingo owl and head to bed.
Take your meds, folks.
