I got up at six a.m. to feed Spock, as per my usual. However, I slept terribly last night and decided to go back to bed. I slept until 11a.m. I guess I needed it.
I got to see Sparrow today! Fen and I met up with them for lunch with their significant other, Patrick. We went to the ramen house just down the street that is very COVID-precaution compliant.

Today has been a long day. I woke up, out of habit, at six a.m., as if to feed the dear Mister Spock. But I was able to go back to sleep for about ninety minutes, so I got another sleep cycle in.
Reffie and I went to the Van Gogh Experience at The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg today. I was moved to literal tears, at one point. Not by the images themselves, but by the words. His words; his own struggles and emotions in his own hand.
Somehow, despite knowing me for almost a decade, Fen had never seen the movie Practical Magic. Until tonight! We watched it and they really enjoyed it.
Edit: son of a bit bitch I forgot to hit “publish”.
I had a friend over today to help me go through all my clothes and pack winter clothes away for the season. I finally conquered Mount Clean Clothes and got it all put away!
So. The synonym of the day is “lifestyle change” rather than dieting. Because dieting has very negative connections in my mind and I take it to extreme and dangerous lengths. So instead, I’m making a lifestyle change.
So I made cheaters Caprese salad this evening. Basil, tomato, mozzarella pearls, spring mix, white onion, and balsamic vinaigrette. Super easy to make and eat. It gets better the longer it rests, too, so the leftovers will be awesome tomorrow.
So the power knocked out for about two hours or so earlier today. We were watching The Princess Bride when the power went out. Fen and I opened up the house and did some cleaning while the power was out.
Spock and Fen both seemed glad to see me back home. The visit with Mal and the girls was nice. I am glad to be home, though. Not crocheting for a full weekend was weird.
Oh man was today a blast. Not only did I get all of my laundry done, I got to introduce my housemate Fen and their girlfriend Kimmy to an old nineties movie I loved called Surf Ninjas. The premise of the movie is just as goofy as one might think from the title.
But it was brilliant. And so much fun. And they both seemed to enjoy the campy humor.
So, I got home from J and Bill6’s around noon today. I received an awesome early Valentine’s Day gift from Fen! It was a pillow shaped like a taco! And I love it!
So, we watched the absolutely ridiculous film,Jupiter Rising, this evening; Fen, their girlfriend Kimmy, and I.
And then, to recover some brain power afterwards, we turned to an old classic, circa 1994, that Fen and I hadn’t seen in a while and that Kimmy had never seen.
Image is of a tiny, read haired girl with flowers in her hair spinning around happily.
It was tacos for dinner tonight. Low spoons means low effort meal. They put on the MST3K of Outlaw on after that, so I retired to my room. I’ve no desire to see anything based on The Books of Gor. Reading them was more than enough.
I just read a short story that was a little Purge-like called Little Monsters: A Halloween Story. It’s got an odd, emotionally detached narrator but it was engaging. Wouldn’t read it again, but it was enjoyable.
I’m going to meditate and then crash for the night.
