Of Boba and Boats

13,498 Days Alive

10 Rows Done on the Rose-y Throw

I got to spend most of the day with my darling friend, Reffie. We went to one of my old college haunts and got milk teas with boba!

I got to see the first three episodes of Stranger Things today. I liked the show and most of the characters that you’re supposed to like, I think. I feel bad for the Barb character.

After, Reffie and I were going a little stir crazy, so we left her place in search of boba. When we went to Green Island, I got a coconut milk tea with boba and it was delicious. She got a traditional milk tea and liked it well enough, I think, though the boba fought her straw at times.

We went for a lovely Sunday drive after that. We kind of went all over. South, down to the end of a road until a closure stopped us…

Reffie and I took the Skyway Bridge home. It’s one of my favorite bridges in Tampa, though then one I take the rarest. I’m terrified to drive on it myself, honestly. Wind shear and rain and just the sheer magnitude of it. Oy. But it was a lovely day.

Reffie I’m even gave me a lovely journal to pour my inked heart into. It’s for the mildly misanthropic side of me. Which I am delighted to explore.

I have a doctor appointment tomorrow, in the afternoon. I’m hoping it’s a quick one so I can get back to work afterwards. I’m not looking forward to the lecture I’ll be getting. My insulin has been out of reach as of late; it’s just so damned expensive and I’m trying to slightly ration it for when I don’t have insurance over the work gap and can’t afford $1,500 a month for it.

Anyway, I’m going to go talk to my new potential Chicago friends for a bit before bed.

Take your meds, folks.
