Both Benny and Spock seem to be running around chasing shadows. Or a bug. Either way, they’re dashing about, each singing.
Benny sounds more like a trilling, loud purr. Spock is just mrrrow! Mrrrow! Loud as he can. It’s cute, for the most part.
What is decidedly not cute is the neighbor that is listening to their television at a wall-shaking volume at almost midnight. The suddenly spike in noise when something happens in the show or movie or whatever it is has woken a sleepy Spock more than once.
They’ve been chasing shadows all day, though. Benny and Spock, I mean. I was trying to read earlier today and Spock was just Not Having It. Full-on liquid cat style shlorped into my lap, stuck his head under the book I was trying to read, and aggressively headbutted said book until I put it down. Once he was satisfied with attention, about twenty five minutes later, he curled up beside me and set to snoring on top of the heating pad.
I only billed a few hours worth of work today. We finally got the Big Project we’ve been working on out the door and e-filed this evening. Big sigh of relief there. But that does raise a “what comes next?” question on the horizon.
I am worried about not being able to pay my bills which is exceedingly stressful for me. I am still job hunting, still putting in applications, and still getting rejections or just… ghosted. A lot of employers honestly lack basic decency these days. They’ll say they will get back to you and then… nothing. Not even a reply to your thank-you email or follow up afterwards. Rude.
Anyway, I hope the neighbor turns down their television before I try to go to bed. I have enough issues trying to stay asleep without auditory distress from inconsiderate neighbors added to the mix.
Anyway, I’m going to appease the Duoling owl and head to bed.
